Perinatal Forum -
Why Mothers Die
important messages for practice
The 6th Report of the UK Confidential Enquiries into Maternal Deaths (CEMD) was published
late last year, covering the period 2000-2002. It holds many important messages on risk factors, causes,
management and prevention.
Because of the high level of interest, we have arranged this second Perinatal Forum on the
topic, and were fortunate to be able to secure another two excellent speakers who were also co-authors of
the report. The meeting will again focus on the main medical, social and mental health aspects of the
report.
