Perinatal Forum -
Gastroschisis - understanding the rising
trend
Gastroschisis is a congenital defect
of the abdominal wall. The birth incidence has been
increasing world-wide over the past two decades, and
is concentrated in births from teenage pregnancies.
This Forum will include presentations
on aetiology and prevalence, and results of a recently
concluded
three-region study on gastroschisis led by Elizabeth
Draper from Leicester.
