Morbidly adherent placenta is increasingly common,
as the number of women with previous caesarean section
increases. It carries a high risk of morbidity and
mortality due to massive obstetric haemorrhage at
delivery. A national care bundle is currently being
launched to highlight the problem and establish a
best practice standard.
