When
using the web site, you may encounter some problems.
This page will attempt to answer some of these
Problem -
The Object takes some time to load .....
.....
Solution - You are running this type of object
for the first time and it is automatically downloading
the Microsoft Visual Basic Automation software
it needs to work correctly. After the download,
you should restart your computer. Note that, now
you have these tools, in future all objects of
this type will run immediately.
Problem -
My browser doesn't download the object at all .....
.....
Solution - For the objects to work you need:
- A
PC running Windows (Sorry, a Macintosh computer
cannot receive this type of object)
- Microsoft
Internet Explorer 4.0 or above or a browser that
can use ActiveX objects.
To
see which browser you are using see below
You
are currently running:
(You
may enconter some false readings from this checker.
For example, the Mozilla will report as "Netscape" and
Opera may report as "Internet Explorer")
Problem -
I cannot see all the object .....
.....
Solution - You may need to scroll down the
screen. If you still cannot see the object, check
your system font settings in control panel

all the program running on screen
- Right
click on the desktop
- Click Properties
- Select Settings
- Make
sure your font size is set to small, NOT custom
or large
- Restart your
computer
- Windows
98/2000/XP
- Minimise
all the program running on screen

Users
of other platforms should check their documentation
Problem -
When my browser downloads the object it says "This
object has not been code signed and will not be downloaded" .....
..... Solution -
There are issues about code signing objects (further
information can be found here). All of our objects
are code signed. To cure this problem you are advised
to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer.
Please also check your security settings (Select Tools, then Internet
options, then click the Security tab). You might have to modify
your security settings (they should be set at Internet Zone - Medium)
Problem -
I get a Run-time Error when I run one of your programs
.....
..... Solution -
Please contact
us with the following information:
- The
Run-Time Error
- The
version of Windows you are running
- The
version of Internet Explorer you are running (you
can find this if you right click My Computer and
click Properties)
- Where
the error occurred
Please
also answer the following questions
- Did
you get the same error every time you tried to
use the program?
- Did
you get the error during the running of the program
(or later)?
- Did
you use any particular data or information to cause
the error?
- Were
you able to (can you) recreate the problem exactly?
