- The
Antenatal
Screening component has been programmed and is herewith released
for consultation and a two-site pilot, starting in June. The data
fields follow the recommendations of the Antenatal Screening subgroup
of the UK National Screening Committee (NSC). This module will be
available on the NHSNet as a stand-alone version, or within MANNERS
Maternity. It incorporates functionality for electronic reporting
of Congenital
Anomalies.

- The
ethnic classification system (geographical
ethnic origin, GEO) has now completed a successful six month consultation
period, and has also been mapped to the categories used in NN4B, while
still maintaining its geographic structure. The classification system
has been incorporated into the Pregnancy
Notes (version 6, out mid June) and into MANNERS.

- 17
of the 18 neonatal units in
the West Midlands are now either on line (12) or downloading the required
data from their own or proprietary systems (5). The last unit is being
trained and will come on line in June.
