- Following
review of the many antenatal booking forms currently in use within
the region, we have devised a generic
booking form which is presented herewith for consultation.
Your feedback would be appreciated - please contact Nicola
Beamish with any comments by 15 September latest. The
current draft is for a paper form, but future plans are
to incorporate an electronic version within MANNERS.

- The
GROW program for customised
growth charts as stand-alone software is now in use in 18 of 20 maternity
units in the West
Midlands. To allow generation of customised charts within MANNERS,
avoiding need for re-entry of the data items, the IT team have now
also completed an integrated web-based version.
- The
development of the stand-alone antenatal
screening module has been completed and is now available for use
in units who do not yet wish to install the full MANNERS Maternity
System

- Birmingham
City Hospital is about to become the first unit to migrate away from
INNS and use the MANNERS maternity module. For full story see
the NHS
Information Authority website.

- MANNERS
Neonatal has been configured
to provide automatic notifications to the
Congenital Anomaly Register.
- Ongoing
validation checks
for data entry have now been established, as a second layer in addition
to the MANNERS in-built data validation tool. Initial results have
been very positive and show good data quality and ascertainment.
