- We have
now completed the Perinatal
Data Index. This is a
list of all data items within the MANNERS dataset (currently n= 305),
arranged chronologically and with an explanation of the origin of the
data item. All data items have been approved by their respective maternal
and neonatal Professional Advisory Groups and have been field tested
in our MANNERS trial sites.

- The pilot of the new web-based system for collecting care
categories from neonatal units is now underway. This system will
provide important information to commissioners and individual neonatal
units
regarding the workload during any given period. Phase 2 of the development
will contain the staffing component for each shift to provide a more
complete overview of the workload. For more information please contact
Nicola Beamish.

- MANNERS Neonatal has now completed the parent
information booklet, which is due to
be piloted next month. Following the regional
consultation, the booklet was submitted to the Plain English Campaign
to ensure clarity for the reader. Parental feedback will be published
early next year.

- The
Good Practice Guide has now been developed to assist users within
all maternity and neonatal units.
The MANNERS team are committed to supporting and encouraging their
users to follow the NHS IM&T
Security Manual guidelines for IT users within the NHS.
