In November 2002 a sub-group of the Regional Ultrasound Group (RUG) produced a regional guideline on soft markers, in the form of a booklet. The guideline was produced in the absence of any national guidance in this area.

It has been agreed by the RUG, that the regional soft marker policy/guideline should be withdrawn by 1 April 2011, and superseded by the NSC FASP statement of normal variant screening in pregnancy (click here for link).
