Formula for Estimate Fetal Weight

The evidence for the calculation of estimated fetal weight (EFW) was summarised and circulated in February 2003.

The recommended EFW formula is that of Hadlock for HC, AC, and FL, as it appears to perform best across a range of different populations and fetal weights. For cases where head measurements are difficult or unreliable, Campbell formula for AC only should be used.
