Smoking cessation in pregnancy is an
important issue for Primary Care Trusts. In the and
in light of
this, the West Midlands network was established in
September 2003 to offer a forum for those working
in this field
- Access information
- Network with each other
- Share their experiences
The network is open to professionals working in any
of the three West Midlands Strategic Health Authority
areas.
Our Mission is to assist
in the professional development of those who provide
a service in this field. We believe that pregnant women
who smoke have the right of access to a high standard
of skilled and effective support.
Our principal objectives are to
- provide the opportunity for sharing and disseminating
best practice
- bring together different professions to share expertise
and ideas
- encourage collaborative working
- consider and disseminate new advances in the evidence
base for treating pregnant smokers
- distribute relevant information resources
